Inspirations for me comes from nature and my culture/heritage.  The stories, the landscape, the history, and the spirit of the people, animals and land are ever-present in my heart and head.  This ring is a prayer to the Mako Sica Badlands of South Dakota. It’s layers and granules depict the landscape and it’s formations.  It’s one of the world’s richest fossil beds, containing remains of three-toed horses, saber-toothed cats, and marine animals from the sea.  Its mixed-grass prairie habitats are home to bison, bighorn sheep, prairie dogs, and the endangered black-footed ferret.  It is bordered by the Oglala reservation and 99 miles from Rosebud reservation.
